Only One Monday Left
We have only one Monday left in the school year. (Of course there are two Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, but still, only one Monday). And, there are only two more days until the AP English Language test. We have worked very hard this year and I feel like most of my students will be successful on the test. I certainly hope that everyone will give it their best effort--and definitely write ALL three essays. If we do that, I think everyone will get at least a 2, and many students will pass, earning FREE college credit. GO AP!

I thought school being almost over meant less stress, but after the meeting I had about one of the mission trips I was going on this summer, I realized I was wrong. I am supposed to be returning to Mexico for my third year, but with the way issues are escalating down there it is left up to me if I want to risk it. I didn't realize how bad it truly was until a man that recently fled Mexico came and told us the statistics. Over 4 thousand killed in less than a year and a half (that's more than the number killed in Iraq). I may touch a lot of lives going there but maybe I could touch a lot more if i stay...now it's up to prayer.
I can't believe that we only have 14 more days of school left. Senior year is just around the corner and I couldn't be happier. I'm ready for college, to take that next step in my life and start that new chapter! It is so exciting to think about. But this year has been an amazing one despite a few things. I have grown so much as a person this year and really opened up my eyes to the world and strived to be a better person. My friends are amazing and I couldn't have made it without them. I'm just ready for AP tests to be over and to finally breathe again! I've forgotten what that feels like.
I can't believe that we only have 14 more days of my junior year! However, I have learned so much this year, and not just in school. I have learned a lot about myself and have grown a lot. Losing my dad really changed me, made me more patient and loving. I am looking forward to senior year though. I can't wait to get to college and finally start that new chapter of my life. I know that it isn't going to be easy but is anything ever easy? I love the idea of a challenge...and college is going to be a challenge!
Today, Team Mexico was officially canceled. Although it took a heavy burden from my shoulders, I am a little upset. The plan is to continue on the set dates but go somewhere else. An idea has been in my head the entire time I was trying to make a decision that bothered me. It was such a shock to find out all the drug related deaths, but after looking on the internet the number is almost double that of Mexico's in the United States. I think that because we have grown up in this society that we don't notice how dangerous America truly is, but when another country is having issues we look down upon them and punish the citizens as whole. Nevertheless, we are now going to Missouri to help the tornado victims and I feel that we can make a difference there too.
Hmm...a very busy week.
Saturday was INSANE! I woke up and headed out to the school b/c I had to perform at the mayfest at kirby creek park for drill team. It was so hot. I rushed home after that to change and to my mom out to eat at the cheesecake factory for an early mothers day gift. (I had the most amazing pasta carbona and Godiva chocolate cheesecake) After that I was supposed to go to my cousin Elliana's 1st birthday party but sadly I had no time. I came home and showered and got ready for Danny's baseball banquet at the Airhogs stadium. Finally I came home, but not for long because as soon as I did we went back out the door again. We went to my aunts house around 9p.m. and visited for a few minutes then went to my god mothers house behind theirs and stayed for about 2 hours. Around 11 we came back to my aunts, I was exhausted, we stayed another 2 hours there. Eventually I made it home and went to bed. Too much to do, too little time. [catrina wyrick]
