Summer

So summer is finally here...well has been for 3 weeks I guess. I started classes at Mountain View last Monday (Government and Economics) and my Economics class is at 7:30! I thought I was going to get to sleep in at least until 8...but no! Plus my teacher is from Liberia so understanding him is so hard! It's a hard class. I love my Government class though. Thank God it only goes until July 3rd...then I just have about a month before band camp starts. I'm not ready for that at all! I love college. I know that TWU isn't going to be anything like Mt. View...but I love college. I love the freedom you have. I have a 3 hr break inbetween classes...which actually is a pain in the behind...but I can read my chapter for Government and I found the piano labs to keep me busy! And they have a Subway! I loooove Subway. Only 2 and a half weeks left!

Summer school

Man... Summer school was a drag. I didn't even want to take the full course of Government. I wanted to take up the privilege of the 10 day course. But the teacher decided to quit. And on top of that I had to pay full price. I was very lucky my grandparents love me because my counselor told my I would be paid for but they decided last year that they were no longer giving away scholarships. Not even to the kids that were trying to better themselves but maybe couldn't afford it. I got lucky. Now I understand why they took it away to the other kids who are dumb and failed the class because they didn't put fourth effort but to take it away from the others is stupid. When we got there of course our glorious school had nothing organized. So we all got into our classrooms and talked to each other for about an hour before the books where even brought to the classrooms. By the way the teachers were all promised books and worksheets prior to the start of the day. But because we are G.P. nothing is right. So this didn't help many Warriors perspective on "North" Our librarians weren't even there to check out Elmo's to the teachers with nothing to do but show an educational film. So most teachers had their kids sit around and visit for 5 HOURS!!! I couldn't help but to fall asleep. But i got all my work done and my teacher was very understanding :) I hope the 2nd day will be better.

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Hi guys!
I hope some of you keep checking in from time to time. It's Sunday night and I'm already missing you--even though I won't miss working every day. Still, your faces and fun are what make it all worthwhile. It looks like I will be teaching AP Language (our class) and AP Lit (senior English) next year, so I'll have some of you back again!!! I'm really thrilled about that. YES!!! But, of course, that means I'll be working like a maniac trying to prepare to teach a course that is totally new to me. Oh, but don't I love challenges! (and learning all kinds of new "stuff").
In just over a week, I'm off to Europe, so I'll probably be too swamped to write much this week. However, I will tell you all about it when I return. You'll probably be bored with my adventures over the sea by the time I finish (but maybe not). Anyway, have a great summer, and post something now and then to let me know how you're doing.
Much love,
Mrs. N
