Papa comes home and Kozue showers him with hugs and kisses. He picks her up and attacks her with millions of tickles.
“That’s enough you two, time for supper.”
“O.K. Mama,” laughs the little girl.
Once supper was over, Kozue was placed in bed. Her mama was in the next room cleaning and her father was helping. Suddenly, there was a vicious knock at the door. “Who is visiting during sundown?” questions Mama. Kozue awakes and runs next to her frighten mother, grabbing the side of her tattered dress. Papa cautiously opens the door, only to be stomped by the police with torches in hands, their black horses waiting outside. Mama quickly pushes Kozue into the antique oak wood cabinet, making sure she is safe and out of danger.
“Kozue stay in here and don’t make a sound.”
